Internet marketing (or marketing online) is the art and skill of promoting a brand, product, or service over the Internet. This type of marketing includes a massive list of strategies and tactics, from paid advertising (also known as Search Engine Marketing and PPC (pay per click). This includes Google Adwords, Facebook ads, retargeting, and media buys, etc.) to content marketing (writing blog posts, posting articles, making videos, podcasts etc.).

Internet marketing is used to sell items you put on eBay, affiliate products, items from your own Etsy store, and so much more. It’s also used to sell services too, such as life coaching or social media consulting services. I use Internet marketing to share DaDaABC  with the world. If someone I refer gets hired, I receive a referral commission.

The way that I use Internet marketing  is with the intent to help someone achieve their goal of getting a job and teaching English online with DaDaABC. Affiliate marketing enables you to earn a commission for referring people to a partnering business that results in a sale. In most cases, individual affiliate links are provided that track sales for each affiliate. Basically, it’s like getting a finders fee and the commissions range anywhere from 4% – 75% depending on the affiliate program or product. Also, purchasing through an affiliate link does not increase the price of the product or service either. Content marketing is all about using different forms of content to provide value in a relevant and timely way. This is where writing blog posts fits into a business strategy, along with other forms of content – including videos, slide shows, pdf’s, ebooks, checklists, images, infographics, and so much more.  Content marketing done effectively increases brand awareness, authority, credibility, and leads to increased website traffic and sales.

Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization – or SEO –  is the process of optimizing your website and online content in a way that  affects your online visibility organically. That is, making sure that your content is liked by the search engines so that it will show up at the top of the search results for keywords related to your content. Email Marketing

Despite email being considered a bit outdated, email marketing is still one of the most effective ways of connecting with your customers and clients. It’s an effective marketing method that continues to evolve with time. Email marketing today requires a business build a list of email subscribers by having them first opt-in for their newsletter or free gift.  Then, savvy email marketers will continue to nurture and engage with their mailing list by sending emails that provide value in the form of information on a topics of verified interest, helpful tips, resources, and more.

Social Media Marketing

This is where Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus and all of the others come into play. Social media marketing is all about using different social media channels to connect, engage, and build relationships with people.
