It was late 2006 when I first began pursuing Internet marketing. I remember being so incredibly intrigued by the new world that had opened up to me that I would stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning every night simply devouring all of the information that I could find. My first attempt at online marketing was a site that I built on FreeWebs… it was one page and all it contained was a ton of different banners that I pulled from all of the affiliate programs I had just joined. LOL – that’s not exactly what I’d call strategic internet marketing! I still laugh when I remember that!
It’s funny to think about how naive I was about affiliate marketing, Internet home business, and what’s actually involved in making money online. But we’ve all been there – totally new to something we have an interest in and are falling in love with… and that’s OK.
The Three Crucial Components to Strategic Internet Marketing Success
As my knowledge of internet marketing continued to develop, I came to understand the importance of three basic things. There are other factors that may be considered in strategic internet marketing, but these three things really are the most important when you boil it all down to what really matters. And the important thing is that without one of them, your efforts will almost always fail because they feed off of each other in such a way that you must have all three in order to find real success online. Here you go:
A Solid Product
Having a good product or an attractive home based business opportunity is the best place to start when your doing any type of strategic internet marketing (I like having both). Savvy marketers choose their products carefully and promote the ones that are going to help people in some way. You see, the product itself must do whatever it says it’s going to do and hopefully it solves some sort of problem for people because those types of products tend to sell the best. When it comes to a home business opportunity, it must be legitimate in nature and not some scam that people are going to be leery of or want to shy away from. Basically, you need a product or opportunity that people want and are willing to pay money for.
Website Traffic
You can have the best product in the entire world, but if no one sees it or knows where to find it, it won’t do you a whole lot of good when it comes to product sales. Generating website traffic is a vital component to any strategic internet marketing plan and to any product or website promotion. You’ve got to get people to view the webpage that is promoting the product or no one will have the opportunity to buy it. There are many different ways to generate website traffic that I’m not going to delve into in this article.
Conversions
This component eluded me for a while in the beginning because, as an affiliate marketer, you don’t have a ton of control over conversions since you are simply driving traffic to a merchants sales page. If their sales page blows because of bad copywriting or poorly created videos, then there’s not much you can do except to try and convert the potential customer on the back end via email (assuming you bothered to capture their email address before sending them through your affiliate link). Network marketers have a bit more control over conversions when it comes to their opportunities because, if you’re with a good company and have a good sponsor, you can increase conversions by choosing the best opportunity presentations to send them to, or by having a strong follow up. You can also employ closing strategies like 3-way calls with your upline. The bottom line is you have to have a sales funnel that converts or you’ll have to do your best to convert them yourself by phone or email.
The three components outlined above really are critical to your online marketing success… so, do YOU have all three? If you’re looking for something that has just the right combination, then you need to check this out now because not only is the product awesome, it’s got built-in traffic, and insane conversions. Hi!
I really like your choice of fonts for this blog, it is really pretty and girly, it is a great representation of your personality. I think your observations about conversions are valid, it really is something you can’t control if you are just sending people to their site, but it is a very important step to get their emails during the process for the reasons you’ve mentioned and in any other case that might come up. You might start your own business one day, and it would be a great start-up to already have a mailing list for marketing your own products.
I wish you all the best for the future,
Leonard

Thanks for the positive feedback, Leonard! I think the fonts are pretty too
And yes, it’s always a smart idea to capture visitor emails, especially when you remember that old saying about people needing to be exposed to an ad at least 7 times before they buy (or join, if you’re a network marketer with an opportunity). Very few people buy/join on the first exposure. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
