Always Believe in Yourself
Posted in Updates on 17. Mar, 2010
I have been so crazy busy I haven’t found the time to sit down and write! Which is ridiculous because as I drive my kids to school each morning I have all of these delicious thoughts about concepts and strategies I want to share with you! So, I have begun jotting them down, for later posts… BUT I had to come and write this post RIGHT NOW because I knew if I didn’t then it simply wouldn’t get written – Totally Unacceptable. Why? Because I have to tell you all about the magnificent trip I’m going on!
Yep, I’m going on a trip – a cruise to the Bahamas, Honduras, the Cayman Islands, and Mexico! I am so excited I can hardly think straight. And there is still so much to do before I leave… BUT I wanted to tell you about my trip before I leave on Friday because there isn’t a WI-FI Internet connection on the ship (ummm… isn’t it 2010?).
I wanted you to know what this trip is all about for me – believing in myself.
The cruise was awarded to me for all of my hard work in my primary business.
You know how network marketing companies run contests and award those fantastic trips? There was a time when I didn’t believe I could win one of those, but here I am going on this amazing trip in a few days. There was a time when I didn’t really believe in myself… and now…Wow…
So, I wanted to tell you that it is crucial to always believe in yourself and your dreams. Never, ever give up. In my mind, success is inevitable when you decide that failure is not an option. I KNOW I can build a successful business and that is what I’ve been working towards. How do I know? Because I will not stop until I reach that goal – period. I will not stop building my business and growing as individual, no matter what. Make that same commitment to yourself today. Believe in the greatness within you and shoot for stars!
I want to share a quote from the screenwriter, actor, director, producer, author, and all around mogul – Tyler Perry. I LOVE his work and admire his success, so I am on his mailing list and I highly recommend you join it as well. He writes to his readers in a way I have never experienced before. He writes like he’s writing a personal email to one of his dear friends. His emails are always so touching and inspiring, so I always look forward to them (Hmmm, what can we learn from him as marketers about how to build a real relationship with your mailing list? I’ll leave that for another post
). Here is an excerpt from an email I received from Tyler tonight that inspired this blog post.
Seeing all of the folks that enjoy what I do, all over this country is so
inspirational to me. It moves me, because I remember when nobody was
coming to my plays. My first play took 7 years to get off the ground.
From 1992 to 1998, I was trying and trying to find an audience. I would
put it up in different cities, one show a year, and every time I tried, it
failed; (or what I thought was failure, now I see that it was all a part
of the success). I wanted to give up so many times. So many people told
me it wouldn’t work; so many people made it their business to convince me to give up on my dreams. But I didn’t give up. I kept moving. With no
one being there, I kept believing; when I got down, I would pray even
harder. I think I wore God down about that show!…LOL. So glad he heard my prayers. It scares me to think where I would be if I had given up.
WOW! What a thought…if I had given up, you wouldn’t be reading this right now. Thank you Jesus for faith. All of that to say…don’t stop
believing!
Don’t stop believing! If I can be preparing for a 7-day cruise from my network marketing company – SO CAN YOU! You can achieve the level success that you desire as long as you keep moving forward and don’t give up. I’m sure I’ll have some stories to tell upon my return… I’ll look forward to sharing those with you.
Bon Voyage!

Hi Terrance, thanks for the positive response! To answer your questions, yes – I use Twitter – you can follow me here @mikaylasway. And yes, I think about using video often. My time has been limited while I’ve been finishing up my MBA program, but I’m on my final 3 weeks of the very last class so I plan on creating some videos that will share some of my Internet network marketing techniques very soon. Stay tuned!
